Basic Training of Women Police in J&K
J&K Police was caught unawares when militancy broke out in the state as it was not trained for this
type of proxy war. With central and state govt. assistance a special drive was launched to train its
men and women police. Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy Udhampur took the challenge of imparting
training to the women police of its force.
Training of women police is a conscious effort to impart, improve the knowledge and skills and also to
instil attitudes and values of an individual in a desired direction. Our academy is developing their
effectiveness through carefully selected methods by competent trainers in a suitable climate. Great
